Username & password not set for IIS (Windows XP Home SP2)

I installed IIS & didn't set a username & password. When set up was complete I was able to access the IIS pages through my browser. Now when I go to http:/localhost I am asked for username & password. What should I enter? I am the sole user of my computer & I dont need or want to have this feature.

If you go into the management snap-in for your web service and check the security properties, does it permit anonymous access? If not, I think you will be asked for some kind of credentials...
