    You can just click on the arrow that you've drawn & it's selected OR you can click the selection button on the drawing toolbar (the upward left pointing arrow) & then drag the mouse around the arrow. You must be in Page Layout view.

    Thanks so much - and for the prompt answer.

    I had expected to see the entire arrow highlighted when it was selected, not just the initial part. Of course, it works as it should.
