    Web pages and Office Apps

I'm trying to set up a webpage that I can run on my PC that will allow me to select and run templates from both Word and Excel. I have links set up to templates for various documents and spreadsheets. When I click on them I get the File Download window that asks me what I want to do with this file? Save it to disk or open it. What I want to have happen is for it to open the file in Word or Excel as a template, allow me to do my work, and then save it (of course using WOPR file save as) and get on with my work.

Can you test for me? Try accessing an ordinary word or excel document and describe the behaviour.

I set up hyperlinks to both an Excel spreadsheet and a Word document. Clicking on either link opens the document in the assoicated program. Clicking on the template still produces the same result as before.

Try posting a link to this thread on the Internet Explorer board. In the meantime, what you are experiencing is due to the default behaviour of IE when opening files of a type it is unfamiliar with. Perhaps an IE guru will have a suggestion on how to change your IE configuration.
