    Right Align Page Numbers? (2003)

    Hello,

As can be seen in the TOC screen-grab, the Page Numbers are with the TOC entry instead of being on the Right Hand Side.

How can I get them to be Right-Aligned?

    TIA.

You have not attaached a screenshot.
The option to right align page numbers is within the "Insert>Reference>Index and tables" dialog. On the "Table of contents" tab you need to select "Right align page numbers"

Firstly, here's my screenshot of the TOC setting & it seems it's already Right-aligned.

What happens if you clear the "Right align page numbers" check box and click OK?
If the page numbers are still not right aligned, activate the dialog again, tick the "Right align page numbers" check box and click OK.

Re: Right Align Page Numbers? (2003)

    Hi Bob,

It look to me as if the TOC styles are lacking the right-align tab, or it's set too far to the left. Alternatively, there may be another tab that's been set in the TOC and, because the TOC heading finish to the left of that tab, the right-align tab doesn't get to do its thing.

    Cheers

What happens if you right-click the Table of Contents, select Update Field, and then specify Update Entire Table in the dialog that appears?

Now they all end up on the right side (see screen-shot)!

Re: Right Align Page Numbers? (2003)

I notice that both the Heading 1 and TOC 1 mention Normal plus a whole lot of things, among which Left-to-right text direction. That seems to imply that your Normal style is set for Right-to-left text. If that is correct, would it be feasible to set the Normal style to Left-to-right?

Re: Right Align Page Numbers? (2003)

This was a problem I had with 2000 so it's worth a try. If you do Alt + F9 to reveal the field code, add w after TOC then refresh, does this line the page numbers up on the right?

Re: Right Align Page Numbers? (2003)

    Bob:
Is it possible for you to copy a couple of pages worth of text & the TOC, replace any confidential text with gibberish (or just paste "The quick brown fox, etc." over it) & then upload the file so we can look at it? I also notice that your screenshot that shows the TOC right aligned after updating the TOC (in response to Hans suggestion) seems to indicate that there is some direct formatting involved.
