    Decision and direction time (AccessXP)

I have a client database where they track service tickets on their clients. They input over 10,000 tickets a year. So every year we archive the service tickets in a separate table. All of the reports are off the tblService. Now there is a need for accessing the tblArchivedServices table and backtracking data and creating reports.

My question is what is the best approach to allowing the client to access previous data currently in the tblArchivedServices? Should we stop archiving? Should I recreate the wheel with all the queries and reports based off of the tblArchivedServices? Or is there a clean way to rename the tblServices and tblArchivedServices to allow me to use the current queries and reports then rename the tables back after the desired reports have been ran? Or is there a fourth more appropriate option?

    Thank you.

One possibility would be to work with Front End and Back End databases.
The archive table would be in a different database with the same name.
You can then link to the archive database by using the Link Table Manager.
If you want to switch by code, have a look at <A target="_blank" HREF="http://rogersaccesslibrary.com/download3.asp?SampleName=LinkTables.mdb">Roger
