Find the daughters age!

A man is twice as old as his daughter. 10 years ago, he was three times her age. What is the daughters present age

The daughter's present age is 20.

Let's say she is x years old and her father y years old. We have 2 equations:
y = 2*x
y-10 = 3*(x-10)
We can rewrite the second equation as y = 3*x-20. So 3*x-20 = 2*x, from which we get x = 20 and y = 40. Ten years ago, their ages were 10 and 30.
