    USB Wireless Adapters - experience?

Has anyone had any experience of using these USB Wireless Adapters, rather than the usual PCI card (NetGear examples chosen for vague familiarity).

Just from the practical point of view, since the USB device doesn't have a aerial whose direction can be changed, wouldn't that be a problem? (OK, I see that you can use a USB extender cable...)

    John,

We haven't used that type of USB Wireless adapter, but we've used WUSB11 Linksys NICs at work with success, if you're looking for the directional aerial. I'm using the WPC11 at home, and the WPC54G at work in my laptops. I assume they are very similar to the Netgear device you linked, as they also don't have a directional aerial.
