    Insert Item (Oultook 2000)

I have a user who insists that he used to be able to insert an item (another email) into a new e-mail or into a reply or forwarded message - as in sending me an e-mail and inserted three other e-mails into it. Now he cannot do this anymore; either in replying or forwarding or creating a new e-mail. I have no problems with it in Outlook 2000, XP and 2003. I have checked everything on hs machine and cannot see what settings have anthing to do with this feature.

Thanks in advance for any help,

    deutsch

What happens on this users' machine when you attempt to Insert, Item, or drag-&-drop an item to the message window?

Also, I'm not sure which version this changed in but if you go to Tools, Options, E-Mail Options in the bottom portion of the dialog, On replies and forwards, choose Attach Original Message for both the Reply and Forward.

Could he be using Word 2003 as his email editor? Although you can still insert items when this option is chosen, it's rather hidden away inside the INSERT menu. Go to TOOLS, OPTIONS, and uhm, EMAIL FORMAT? EMAIL SETTINGS?

The insert item is grayed out on his machine. He uses Outlook 2000. I have tried on 2000, 2002 and 2003 without any problem. Also, it works on all versions for me whether I use Word or not as e-mail editor.

What is his default editor? HTML, RTF, Word, etc. This may help some of us troubleshoot... thanx

Can the user drag&drop items into a new message?
