    RESTORE DELETED INBOX? (IE6)

My first post on this forum, so I hope I'm doing it correctly. I use Windows 98SE.

My Inbox appeared to be corrupt, as it would not open -- OE always hung up when I tried to start it, and I had to use Ctrl-Alt-Del and End Task before trying to open it up again. I rebooted several times to no avail.

Then I moved the Inbox file to a new location, and opened OE -- opened fine with, of course, an empty Inbox. Then the silly mistake -- I created a new OE Identity with Message Store in the temporary location where I had put the Inbox which, of course, over wrote the Inbox that I had moved there -- duhh!!

Is there any possibility that I can retrieve any or all of the messages in the deleted Inbox? It is not in the Recycle Bin.

    Hi Lindsay,
I'm not sure but I think your inbox messages are somewhere out in the barrier reef. My memory regarding 98SE is rather foggy so I don't remember if you can search for them like you can in XP.
You can try to reinstall IE & OE which install together and that should repair the Inbox problem itself but the messages???
