    'Between' statement (Excel 2000)

I want to look for number between 60 and 70, in an adjacent cell, - if the number is in the range put a symbol in this cell. How do you state in an 'IF ' statement, number - between?

ie =IF(C14 > 60,"u") but I want this to work for any number between 60 and 70 not just > 60

    Thanks

There are several possibilities. One is to use the AND function to combine conditions:

    =IF(AND(C14 > 60, C14 < 70), "u", "")

Another one is to rewrite the condition as "the absolute value of the difference between C14 and 65 must be less than 5":

    =IF(ABS(C14 - 65) < 5, "u", "")

    Yet another one:

    =IF((C14 > 60) * (C14 < 70), "u", "")
