    Excel stability (multiple)

Anybody have an opinion on the relative stability of the 3 most recent Excel versions (2000, 2002 and 2003). I'm assuming here that for comparison purposes each is up-to-date on patches. And by stability, of course, I mean not crashing and losing all open workbooks.
The deal is that my users are all on Excel 2000 (SP-3), but they're getting too many crashes for their liking. I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on which platform is reputed to trigger the least number of crashes.
    TIA

I have little information on 2003, but XP is definitely more stable than 2000, in whichever SR. I have heard 2003 is comparable to XP.
