Tips for importing spreads sheets to PowerPoint (PowerPoint 2002)

    Hello everyone:

Can anyone tell me the best tips for getting a spreadsheet, or partial spreadsheet into PowerPoint.
    This would also includes graphs.

I have used the PowerPoint application, what toggles should be turned on or off?

    Regards,

It's been a long time, but I think that I had the best looking results with charts if I selected the chart in Excel and did Edit | Copy. Then in PowerPoint, I did an Edit | Paste Special and chose, Picture (Enhanced Metafile). HTH --Sam

I typically copy and paste the graph with the special issue to decide whether I would like to copy it as an excel sheet or as a graph.
Then use the picture tool bar to crop the copied material.

I've always had the best luck by holding down the shift key when clicking the edit button in Excel and choosing Copy Picture and clicking 'as shown when printed'. Then you paste that into PowerPoint.

(Edited by HansV to make URL clickable - see <!help=19>Help 19<!/help>)

Dillon: There is a great tool at http://www.xpport.com. It does both spreadsheets and charts. It reads your Excel page breaks and exports each page to new slide in PowerPoint. In spreadsheets where I have data I don't want to export, I just set the print area to not include it. It can be set to export just the active sheet or all the sheets in a file. In PowerPoint, it sizes the data or chart on each slide to fill the body area as defined in the slide master. The export can be set to create a new PowerPoint file or append to an existing one. Good luck with your presentations.
