    pcAnywhere Computer Lock

Is there a way to lock the computer (Windows key+L) via pcAnywhere?

I log in to my computer at work from home, the computer at work is on, logged in, and locked. I can connect and sign in, but unable to lock it when I exit so that it is still on when I come in to the office next.

    Any ideas?

Have you tried using a screensaver with whatever minute delay you want and turning on the password protection option? I use it all the time and it works OK for me when I remote into my box at work from home. Work box is never turned off - just the monitor contrast set to minimum which appears to the casual observer that the machine is off.

The screensaver with the password protection function would work, but there would be a window of vulnerabilty and there would also be the issue of the fact that the computer will not be reset without being rebooted after a pcAnywhere session (applies only to XP).

If this is WinNT/2k/XP start the Task Manager. Then select Shutdown | Lock Computer.

Even easier, create a shortcut on the desktop with the target as:

    rundll32.exe user32.dll, LockWorkStation

possibly sticking %windir%System32 at the front, if you want to be pedantic!
