    Error Message (Office XP)

I get this message when I try to repair Outlook: "The patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package."

What is my problem and how do I solve it.

I think there are a number of things that can cause this, some of which have been discussed on the General Office Solutions board. What happens if you try to run the repair by starting up the installer from the Office CD?

How do I start the installer from the Office CD ( I did right click and click on install) but got the same problem message.

I'll try to find something in the General Office Solution board - if I can find the board.

Thank you for getting back to me.

Sorry, I was out of town. The General Office Solutions board is right here in the Lounge.

If your Autorun settings do not automatically start up the installer, you can run the setup.exe file on the CD.

Thank you for your time and effort on this.

I get the same error message when I try setup.exe
