    Dell Axim X5 PDA

Can anyone pls tell me whether or not I can update my Dell Axim X5 PDA to have it receive/send email. I've spent X hours at the Dell site without being able to send them this simple question. Apparently they don't want hardware questions. Thanx

I can't tell you the answer to your question, but have you tried http://www.aximsite.com/, where the people specialise in this product!

If it has an SDIO slot, you may be able to add a WiFi card. There also may be custom solutions to link it to a mobile phone account. Either way, you get a lot of options for e-mail, none quite so satisfactory as a real computer. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

    e-mail

Is it really a hardware issue you have? I think you have one (or both) of two problems: 1) you can't use e-mail, 2) you can't connect to a network. Can you be more specific as to the problem you're having?

I've used the X5 to browse the web, but after a few minutes of that I'd had enough. I don't bother with e-mail since I use web-based services on the road. I can't help you there. The X5 accepts CF, so you can add a WIFI card if you want to go that route. It won't work like a cell phone, naturally, you'll still have to be in a hot spot. You can always connect to a computer via synch cable.
