    Limit Number of Characters (2000)

Is there a way of limiting the number of characters in a cell like you can do in Access??

    Hi,
I can't remember if it works in 2000 but in 2002 you can use Data Validation and choose the 'Text length' option. Unfortunately, this is only triggered when they press enter, not as they are typing.
    Hope that helps.

In conjunction with Rory's suggestion you can add an Data validation input message (somethin like: "Cell Must have <50 Chars")

Again, It won't prevent it while they are entering (only afterwards when they check), but they are at least prewarned.
