I've recently been tryin to install kazaa and when i do after a few seconds the window vanishes. following instructions to check the RegEdit by kazaa i found i had the same problem, it opens and then after a few seconds the window closes.
i have no idea why and i have installed other software without any problems.

This piece of software is associated with so much spyware that most people simply wish to remove it (along with the uninvited spyware) from their systems. If you search the Lounge for Kazaa, you will find post after post on this issue.

If you are having trouble installing Kazaa, you probably should reconsider what you are doing. As Rebel said, the program all by itself is so rife with spyware and junk that if you are having trouble installing it, you will likely have one <img src=/w3timages/censored.gif alt=censored border=0> of a time dealing with all the garbage that it brings to your system.

You say you followed instructions from Kazaa to do something with RegEdit ??? From your discription of what happens when you do open RegEdit it sounds like you are already infected with something. My suggestion would be to get copies of Adaware se, Spybot S&D and SpywareBlaster. Install, update and run each of them. Remove anything that Adaware & Spybot find. But before you do this, uninstall Kazaa (your copy is likely loaded with spyware and adware anyway) because you probably won't be able to after you run the utilities and remove the junk.

Filesharing is an "at-your-own-risk" activity. If you have to participate, do so in an informed manner and use good judgement (and a good firewall, AV program and protection from spyware/malware). Your carelessness and mistakes affect us all, as your PC becomes just one more mindless zombie in some hacker's network of bots.
