Using public folders for shared mail archiving? (A

Ever need to find messages sent or received by others working on the same project? In the law firm environment, most people seem to be too busy to copy messages out to a document management system, so something internal to Exchange seems like a logical alternative.

I'm curious whether anyone is using (or has stopped using or rejected using) public folders to archive messages relating to a particular project. Does it work? Found something better? Comments welcomed! Thanks.

It sounds like a good idea, but wouldn't it be a Permissions and security nightmare to administer? Jefferson, you might want to cross-post a reference to your question in the Server Forum, as someone there might have an Server Administration perspective.

A firm called 80-20 (www.80-20.com) has an edms that works well with exchange -- I have no association with this company, but have seen the product and it appears good, I have no idea of the costs however and suspect that it could be expensive.
