    File Locations (Word 2000)

We are trying to set up Word on a laptop so that it looks at one startup file when connected to the network and a different startup file when its not.

When we take it off the network it still goes through program files/microsoft office/office/startup before it goes to the new startup file which we have created - even though the file locations is pointing to the new file. This is causing a series of errors as it is looking for files contained on the network and cant find them.

    Can anyone help?

Possibly Word goes through a variety of Startup folders to get both global and personal settings. I guess you could rename that global folder to StartupNot as a step in starting up Word offline...

The easiest solution might be to use Offline folders to make sure that you can access the same files whether or not you are connected to the network.
