Cell text in formula (Excel 2000)

I want to use a company name such as 987 Smith Inc in a formula. 987 Smith Inc is in cell b2. In cell c2 I want to say "Get the cell contents of d50 on the tab 987 Smith Inc". I am not getting results by doing ="('"&b2&"'!d50) in cell C2. Is this the correct way to incorporate a cell contents in a formula? Thanks.

    Hi,
    Try:
    =INDIRECT("'"&B2&"'!D50")
    Hope that helps.

Thanks. That's it. I had a feeling this is where INDIRECT might come in, but I have only used it once, years ago. Thanks alot...that one is going on my cheat-sheet.
