Password Safe

Anyone interested in a good freeware password safe to keep track of you passwords go to
http://www.counterpane.com/passsafe.html

I have been using it for months & found it to be really helpfull, especially if you are as forgetful as I am.

Password Safe protects passwords with the Blowfish encryption algorithm. The program's security has been verified by Counterpane Labs. You can copy a password just by double-clicking, and paste it directly into your application. Best of all, it is completely free: no license requirements, shareware fees, or other strings attached.

Re: Password Safe

Since there have been some related threads lately (from people who belatedly wish they had used a password storage vault), I found that the same product is now found here:

I used Password Safe for many years and liked it. Changed to Oubliette, mainly because I preferred the interface, organisation and all the information fields provided. These and other ware password managers can be found here.

Re: Password Safe

Password Safe 3.02 is now out. Improvements from version 2.16 include (edited from the website):

Database format is changed to use newer encryption algorithm (Twofish and SHA-256 replaces Blowfish and SHA-1). Existing databases are converted when opened
Entry creation time is now stored
URL field with "goto URL" button
Autotype field (similar to forms autocomplete, with simple form field order scripting)
System Tray icon indicates if database is locked or not
System Tray menu now has a list of recently used entries - a convenient shortcut to common entries
Add and Edit dialog box now have "simple" and "detailed" modes
