    Hyperlinks in Access (Access 2000)

We use Access 2000. We have a hyperlink field that contains paths to documents (EXCEL Spreadsheets) on a LAN. When they are opened up, I want the documents to be read only. Can I set this in ACCESS?

I'm sorry, not as far as I know. You would have to make the Excel workbooks themselves read-only, or place them in a read-only network folder.

If you are starting Excel with a command line approach rather than automation, you can use the /r switch. To see the details, search Excel Help for "Customize How Excel starts" and view the topic "Use startup switches when you start Excel."
