    Subject text (MSO2K sr1-a)

I'm not sure what it is ...

I'm subscribed to a Yahoo message board, and when the msgs come in, they show, for instance, [wopr] in the subject... The text is the BBS name.

But if I do an Outlook search for msgs with [wopr] in the subject, the results come up empty...

    What am I doing wrong?

Do you mean to include the <!t>[ and ]<!/t> ?
If so, have you tried searching without them?
Have you tried the advanced find?

    Leif:

I did mean to include the [ ], as that would differentiate between specific BBS items and other emails...

Was it worth my while asking the other two questions?

    Leif:

Yes, because, for organizational purposes, for example, items from "Leif" that contain [WOPR] in the subject go to one folder, while the rest of "Leif" e-mail goes to another...

    Re: Subject text (MSO2K sr1-a)

In Outlook 2002, I tried this three ways, testing with the name-in-brackets of an eGroups (now Yahoo! Groups) list to which I subscribe. All three methods found the same messages: regular find, Advanced Find searching in subject line on the front tab, Advanced Find searching the subject on the third tab. I find it hard to believe that Microsoft would have changed this between versions, but it is possible that Outlook 2000 worked differently.

I think that I may have (had) some type of "issue" with my rules conflicting...

I decided to disable all rules, and then "rebuild" the list...

    Thanks.

Oh, Rules may work quite differently than Find. Good luck with the rebuild.

    Jefferson / Leif:

Guys, again, I appreciate your help and patience. Most of the time I end up saying "Duh!", And I like to think I'm getting better at self-resolution.

But you are both a great help along the way.

    Regards,
    Chuck
