Wireless signal strength indicator WinXP Pro

    Hello.

I've recently set up a PC with a wireless connection to a Sitecom print server. The PC has a (Sitecom) USB wireless adaptor.

All is working fine but the tooltip that appears when I point to the network icon in the tray says 2Mbps, signal strength low. If I look at the connection in the Wireless Network Connections dialog, it says the signal strength is excellent. This is what I would expect since the printer is just across the room. So - why does that tray icon say low signal strength?

    Thanks
    Robin

About all I can find on this matter is <!mskb=841800>Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 841800<!/mskb>, but even that doesn't seem to be a very good match.
