Report with no data error (2002)

    Hi,

I have a report that is bound to a crosstab query. It is giving me an error that says it does not recognize one of the fields. It is not a parameter error. I'm assuming it is because in this week's report there is no data for this field. I need to know if this is the cause (I attached the report) and if so, how do I keep the report from blowing up if one or more of the fields does not have data on a particular week.

    Thanks,
    Leesha

Re: Report with no data error (2002)

Open the query qryUFSSummaryCrosstab in design view.
Right click in the upper part of the design view, but not on a table. Select Properties.
In the property Column Headings enter :
    "CLIENT CANCELED","NO SHOW","NOT ASSIGNED","OFFICE CANCELED"
This will force the query to always create four columns with the four headings you have entered, even if there is no data for that column.

WOW!! I'm impressed. One more question on this report. I just noticed that now that there is nothing in the [no show] section for this week's report, the grand total at the bottom doesn't give a sum. I'm pretty sure it did last week when all the fields had data. Any way I can correct this?

    Thanks,

That's because the no show column return now a null (not zero but an empty value).
Change the control source of the textbox to :
    =nz([txtClientCanceled])+nz([txtNoshow])+nz([txtNotAssigned])+nz([txtOfficeCanceled])
