    Notepad playing up (sp2)

I tend to right click on a local web page to summon up Notepad to make a quick edit on the page, but it comes up with:
The filename directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect. I use IE6. Just started happening...

Notepad will still open them OK using Open With from My Computer. Any ideas, please?

Re-read your 1st post. Sorry, missed the 'local' the first time. It seems as though the command line for the program associated with the 'EDIT' function for the file type is corrupt. Try this. In Windows Explorer go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types. Scroll to the type you are attempting to EDIT. Select the type. Click on Advanced. Select 'EDIT'. And Press the EDIT button. Correct the 'Application ...' entry. Then OK your way out.

Tried that: replaced "C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice10msohtmed.exe" %1 with the path to Notepad. No joy, I'm afraid.

Thanks for the advice anyway. I'll stick to MS-DOS Edit in the meantime...

Can you post a screen shot of the entry?
