Now() not working in report (2000)

Why would a text box on a report with =Now() in it stop populating and start prompting me for a value of Now?

Are you sure that you have the brackets () in the control source of the text box? If they are missing, the control source would become =[Now], and [Now] would be interpreted as a parameter.

Another possible cause is a missing reference. Activate the Visual Basic Editor (Alt+F11) and select Tools | References...
If there are references starting with MISSING, not which ones they are, then clear their check boxes and click OK. Then switch back to Access (Alt+F11) and try the report again.

I checked them both and all looks good.

One thing to note, I went to edit the textbox and when I try to exit by clicking elsewhere, it gives me this error:

The expression you entered has a function name that Microsoft Access can't find.

Do you have =Now() in the Control Source of the text box or did you put it into an event?

Re: Now() not working in report (2000)

It was in the control source.

I think the user corrupted the database somehow.

I copied everything to a blank database and it is working fine now.
