view My Pictures folder on home tv?

Hope someone will move this if it's in wrong place.....my friend insists she has seen some device or maybe software that would allow her to view her My Pictures folders from her pc in one room on her home TV in another room, with all the same functions e.g viewing a slide show or individual pictures. Couldnt find anything doing a quick google and being lazy wondered if anyone here has heard of this sort of thing?

Probably a graphics card with 'TV out' and a long cable to the next room. (A Google for 'graphics card tv out' should get you some hits.)

I think I've seen an ad on television for a device from Microsoft's hardware side that will allow this. Could be a network box, could be a separate PC, I don't recall.

It's been a few months since I saw the ad.

As frequently happens, it doesn't appear to be available in the UK (where the OP liveth!). Maybe Windows Media Centre would fit the bill, at enormous expense?

Can't you use your enormous influence and get MS to sell that stuff in the UK? <img src=/S/clever.gif border=0 alt=clever width=15 height=15> Seems I read an article that OEM is the US were trying to get newer Media Center PCs in the $1000 - $1200 USD range. Not enormous but no trivial either.

A couple of UK PC manufacturers have produced Media Centre PCs, but as always in the UK we seem to pay a similar number of

Do any of the OEMs sell refurbished PCs online in the UK? You can get a pretty deal in the US if you don't require the latest and greatest.

Hmmmm......interesting thoughts.....however, managed to track this down which is what I think she was referering to http://www.pcsender.net no mention of cost but did a search on e bay and looks like they retail over
