Importing PalmPilot data (Outlook 2003)

Is it possible to import PalmPilot Desktop 4.0 address book data into Outlook 2003 contacts? I can export the PalmPilot data to a CVS file, but then I will need to map the fields. It is the mapping function that I have some doubts about.

You can do this with sync software Chapura Pocketmirror just by setting the sync to have the PDA override Outlook on a one-time basis. The accuracy and completeness will depend a bit on your sync software and PDA-side address book. Mine is the older address book software that doesn't carry as many fields, so for some business contacts all I get is three phone numbers. However, Chapura Pocketmirror syncs fine with only occasional glitches, usually overcome by rerunning the sync while I DON'T mess around doing things in Outlook.

Good idea. I checked the Chapura Pocketmirror Web site and it says that PocketMirror was bundled with my Palm Desktop software. I have checked the Palm CDs and the installed folder on my computer and don't find it. Could it be buried somewhere else?

(Edited by JohnBF on 28-Oct-04 06:29. )
You should be able to just load the CD and walk through the installation process. On my CD it's under 'Palm DesktopPocketmirror', run Setup. After you do, if the version is older than 3.1.6, update the version from Chapura's website.
