    Microsoft Exchange

There are some features of Outlook 98 that can only be accessed through Microsoft's Exchange. I installed exchange and it is asking me for a server name. How can I apply one? The mailbox name is not recognized either.

you are using exchange server in your organization, correct?

get the exchange servername from the admin, then go to tools | services and set up your exchange account.

No. Does this mean there isn't a way to use the exchange features?

    Re: Microsoft Exchange

I have come to realize it needs a server that is common to all workers to recall mail and others since each member of the servers would need to be authorized. Voting button and knowing if mail has been read are some. I thought it could be done through my internet server. Is there a generic way?
I know I can use remote on my computer. Can it be accessed outside my computer without a formal parameters?

    Re: Microsoft Exchange

recall is unreliable even on exchange, consider that a non-issue and not worth it. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

voting works on most any mail server - the key is sending in RTF message format. i think you need corp mode for the full features of voting, but it can be faked on IMO. some servers will strip the tnef information, but should be the only issue that would be a problem.

read receipts need faked on IMO too, use a rule for notify me when read. otherwise, it works on all servers.

see help > about for the mode you are using, it'll either be corporate or internet mail only.

    Thanks MJ,
I use outlook in word97 mode. I'll try the voting in RTF.
I know I am in Corp. - I just put it in for Winfax 10.0.
One question. Does the Exchange Server need to be installed?
When I open outlook 98 it asks for a server name.
