How old is Great Grandma? (Excel 2000)

If I wanted to figure out how old in Years, Months and Days Great-Grandma would be, how would I calculate this...todays date minus her birthdate of 10/28/1890 does not give me correct calculations no matter how I do it...short method or long method with the DATEDIF function. I know there is a difference between the 1904 system and the 1900, but could you also explain this, and tell me, CAN we calculate this or not.

Excel cannot do arithmatic with dates prior to 1900, so there is a problem there.
    VBA can do it.
But there is always a definition problem when doing math with dates. (I cannot think of examples of combinations that are subject to different explanations, but there should be plenty).
    Maybe this file helps?
