    Scroll Bar (2000)

    I have a popup window that I made for a site and all I want to do is make a simple scrollbar that goes down the right hand side of the screen. The popup is pretty long and the viewer needs the scrollbar in order to see all the information. For the life of me, I can not figure out how to do this. Can someone please help?

    Thank you!

    Can you post the code for the Popup window? I believe there is a javascript flag that indicates whether a scroll bar is present or not - I just have to look at my references.

    No, that didn't work. I think I am an idiot and confused. Here is the code for my popup. I can't figure out what I am doing!
    <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
    closetime = 0;

    function Start(URL, WIDTH, HEIGHT) {
    windowprops = "left=125,top=50,width=5" + WIDTH + ",height=70" + HEIGHT;
    preview = window.open(URL, "preview", windowprops);
    if (closetime) setTimeout("preview.close();", closetime*1000);
    }

    function doPopup() {
    url = 'popup.htm';
    width =-5000;
    height = 600;
    delay = 1;
    timer = setTimeout('Start(url, width, height)', delay*1000);
    }
    // End
    </SCRIPT>

    Once again, thank you for your help!

    One of the possible values you can have in the "windowsprops" string is scrollbars which "enables horizontal and vertical scrollbars when they are necessary" according to my reference. I don't think the order of the options matters, so you can put it at the beginning, before left (this is the easiest place in this case), with just a comma and no space in between scrollbars and left.

    I tried what you said and you can see the scrollbar on the left side, but it is "grayed out". I tried scrollbars=yes and still "grayed out". Why does something that seems so simple to do, so complicated?

    If you force scroll-bars on but they are not needed - i.e. the page length/width doesn't require them - I think they will appear greyed out. Does the window in question actually need them in this instance?

    Re: Scroll Bar (2000)

    Yes, the page is quite long and my boss would like all the information to be seen. He loves the idea of having it as a pop up window and since he is the boss, he gets what he wants. Can I change the page length of the popup so it is longer and then the scroll bar will appear?
