    Inherited Menus (VB 6 )

    Slogging throught the tutorial, I've been builfing an MDI app with pics on s child pages (forms) and a parent form, and then one "standard", although I'm not quite clear what its purpose is supposed to be, as it is the first form to show, and all it does is allow a button to call another form... no matter, I'll learn that later...

    The menu(s), built as part of the parent form, are supposed to show on the child forms as well... but they only show on 2 of the three child forms, and I know not why.

    I attached a zip file with the docs in it, so if anybody cares to take a shot at what the heck I'm missing, it would be appreciated...

    Regards,

    frmPicture1 has been given its own menu. You can view/edit it by selecting Tools | Menu Editor. If you would delete all items in the menu for frmPicture1, it would use the same menu as the other child forms.

    Hans:

    That worked great... as you know...

    How come:

    Private Sub mnuArrangeIcons_Click()
    frmPictures.Arrange vbArrangeIcons
    End Sub

    doesn't produce any action or error? The windows just sit there. I tried clicking and dragging various windows prior to execution, but it made no diff at all...

    ?

    The Arrange Icons command works only if you have minimized one or more of the child forms. It will then arrange the icons representing the minimized forms along the bottom edge of the parent form.

    Oh. Is there any type of "Alphabetize and cascade" method or procedure?
