Row height automatically adjusting (Excel 2000)

I cannot figure out how you get a worksheet to have it's row adjust automatically to show more than 1 row of text when the "word wrap" feature is ticked in the alignment section of the formatting dialogue box. Some of my sheets do it and some don't. Any help much appreciated.

Are the sheets the don't work in cells with cells that are merged?

If so check out <post#=270876>post 270876</post#> for some code to workaround it.

Re: Row height automatically adjusting (Excel 2000)

Perhaps some of the rows have had heights 'manually' set:
A row that has had it's height set manually will not automatically self-adjust with any word-wrapped cell contents anywhere on the row.
Row height is set 'manually' using Format-Rows-Height and then typing a value e.g 15.
Using this, you are telling Excel exactly what row height you want, so it won't then alter it.
To undo manual row-heights on any rows where you expect it to adjust, e.g. with word-wrapped entries in cell, select the rows and then use
    Format-Rows-Autofit
