    Re: New Acronis Update

I've been meaning to post a couple of comments here all month, Bob, and I keep getting busy and forgetting. The earlier thread I started ( <!post=with this post,413357>with this post<!/post> ) got kinda long, so I'll post these remarks here just in case. Shortly after you made this post, I downloaded and installed Build 774, which still seems to be the latest. I did notice that after having done that, the pesky TrueImageMonitor program was turned back on in my startup list. Once again I un-checked it and the running of the program doesn't seem to turn it back on. This was your last question in the above thread.

More importantly, I have noticed a SIGNIFICANT speed increase in running an image process with Build 774 ! ! Remember, my history was about 83 MB/min, increasing to 183 MB/min after disabling the monitor program. Well whammo, in Build 774 with about the same 23 gig of data on all partitions, TI is imaging at just under 319 MB/min. I do a few spot checks on an image afterward to make sure I can read several selected files and all seems to be in order. I have no idea what they did but it's sure OK in my book.

    Re: New Acronis Update

    Al,
Glad to hear you are now imaging at a more reasonable speed now with build 774.
I don't think I saw any big increase with 774 but I tried to run with and without the Acronis startup files and don't really see any difference either way now. Just what those things are for ( for sure ), I don't know. I'll probably just keep on running without them in the start up.

Maybe in your case, there was a little something missing or corrupt in the old build, that was corrected when you loaded in the new one? Just a little case of SWH.
