    Windows Explorer Starting view

I hate the way Windows writers are trying to hide the hard disc from me. The default opening for Windows Explorer seems to be be some construct called 'my documents'. I don't want to be forced to use this but to see my hard disc and directories that I have crafted in all their glory.

Is it possible to have Windows Explorer startup showing the root of the C: drive (or any other as specified) with the sub directory tree on view too? I guess its a specific in an 'ini' file (showing my age - yes I remember CPM/DOS and Win 3.1) or something burried in the registry?

    Thanks knowledgeable people.
