    Fast Find

I've just reinstalled Office XP on my Windows 98 system. Now, whenever it is sitting idle, the disk is constantly doing seeks. A couple of years back, I asked this question, and I've forgotten the answer., but it had something to do with the fastfind feature of Office. On a 98 system, it never finishes building the database. How do I turn off this "feature?" TIA --Sam

    Sam

Perhaps Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Find Fast -> Index -> Close and Stop ?

And after you turn it off, you can use TweakUI to remove the icon from the Control Panel.
