    Open/Save boxes (5.1.2600 SP2)

Those windows that open when I <Ctrl>s or o stay resized as long as I don't restart Windows, right? How can I set them to save that size. I always have to drag them to a larger size to see the thumbnails or down to see the long list. It must be simple somewhere, but I can't figure it out.

I've never bothered to resize those windows so I admit to not knowing whether they can be "made" to hold your setting through a restart. If you're feeling a little adventuresome, you might give <!post=this StarPost,252256>this StarPost<!/post> from WyllyWylly a look to see if it will help out in your situation.

I do NOT think that they can be saved in a larger size. This has been around since Windows 98 and have changed many a Open/Save pane and none has ever stuck.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

I agree. The other panes can be resized, but not the open/save. It's a real pain when I am working with jpegs in PaintShop Pro for instance and want to see the thumbnails.

(Edited by HansV to make URLs clickable - see <!help=19>Help 19<!/help>)

    Try these two programs
    1. FileEx 3.0
    Shareware $19.95 [30 days free] http://www.file-ex.com/download.html
I haven't tried this one yet.

    2. OpenWide
    Freeware http://lingo.atspace.com/
I've tried this one. Small. Elegant. Easy to use. Highly reccomended.
