Lock columns in query (Access 2000)

I have created a form with some fields locked so that users can update some fields but not others. How can this be done with columns in a query?

By displaying the query results in a continuous form with some fields locked.

You can "lock" a column in a query by turning it into a calculated value. For example, if you had the following query ...

    SELECT CompanyID, CompanyName FROM Customers

and you wanted to lock CompanyID, you could do it like this:

SELECT CompanyID & "" As CompanyID , CompanyName FROM Customers

Turning CompanyID into an expression by concatenating an empty string will make it uneditable.
