Usually the folder is called something like AccessRT. Also look for a Redist folder, which should contain a redist.txt file that lists the redistributable files. The runtime executable is MSAccess.exe.

    Hi John

You have to make a difference between Access 2000 Premium and Access 2000 Developer Edition.
Access 2000 Developer Edition contain Access 2000 Premium (4CD) and a supplementary cd Office 2000 Developer.
The directory AccessRT and the file redist.txt that <!profile=charlotte>charlotte<!/profile> is writing about are located on this fifth cd.

    Hi Charoltte & Francois

I have since found my Microsoft Office 2000 Developer CD

    1. I created my package in ClerkRT and ended up with the following subdirectories:

    ClerkRTRuntimePFILESMSOFFICEOFFICE

Do I copy ClerkRT and all subdirectories to customer distribution CD?

    2. I opened ClerkRTRuntimePFILESMSOFFICEOFFICEMSACCESS.EXE (runtime?) and About shows
    Microsoft Access 2000 (9.0.2720), I

It is Access with add/delete/change capabilities. That's the whole idea of the runtime, that your application can run on a machine without Access installed

I'm not sure there is an update availble for the 2000 runtime, although there is one for the 2002. The updates involve swapping out dlls, and I've never considered even trying it manually.

I mean database container access with object add/delete/change capabilities?

There are also things that are not available in a runtime version of Access, like some of the built in toolbar functionality. Furthermore, the property sheet settings for menubars/toolbars is ignored and you have to show and hide the menubars in code. As I recall there was a whitepaper on the developer's CD that described the differences between full and runtime versions, but I don't have 2000 developer installed on this machine.

    Hi Charlotte

    I found the white papers:

SysOp - Run-time, Microsoft Office 2000 Developer, Targeting the Access Run-Time
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default....cessruntime.asp

Tip If Microsoft Access is installed on a user's machine, you can test your run-time application by copying the file mso9rt.dll to the user's ..Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedVBAVBA6 folder.

    Where do I find mso9rt.dll?

Haven't a clue. Have you checked your developer CD?
