    Characters before SS$ (Word 2002/2003)

Is there an easy way to put 10 characters before a column of SS#s in a word document? I thought about a find and replace but I cannot seem to get anything before the first number. They are all separate by a hard return.

    Thanks

Maybe I have misunderstood, but have you tried to replace ^p (paragraph mark) with ^p followed by the required number of spaces?

Yes tried this but it puts the characters at the end of the ss# 111-22-3333**********111-22-3333*********
The user wants them in a single column like this
    **********111-22-3333
    **********111-22-3333

    Currently they are like this
    111-22-3333^p
    111-22-3333^p

Am I missing something really easy??

It looks as if you replaced ^p with **********. Stuart recommended replacing it with ^p**********. If the list starts on the first line, you may have to insert a paragraph mark before the first SS# temporarily, then perform the replace, and finally remove the first paragraph mark.
