    Extract and Replace Text (2003)

    I would like to extract a portion of text from each cell and replace with the remaining text.

    B2="Asheville Limited Total"
    C2="Baring Total"

    I want to remove "Total from all the cells and replace with the remaining text.

    B2="Asheville Limited"
    C3="Baring"

    Is there a simple way to do this.

    Thanks,
    Kent

    Kent,

    If you are just wanting to take the word "Total" out of your cells, you can do this with Edit>Replace.

    In the Edit>Replace menu tell Excel to find " Total" (no quotes, and I would type it with a <space> and the word Total to not leave a space at the end of the remaining text). Tell it to replace with nothing by leaving the Replace With blank, then choose the Replace button, or Replace All to do them all at once.

    Re: Extract and Replace Text (2003)

    I can't believe it. Thanks so much! I knew about the find and replace, but for some reason I was thinking it would find the word "Total" then replace the whole cell with the blank rather than just where the word "Total" was. I should have at least tried. Thanks again for your help!
