    Printing End notes (Word 2002/2003)

Is there an easy way to print endnotes only of a 300 page document?

If you aren't already using it, change your view to Print Layout. Select the endnotes and then use File / Print and in the print dialog designate "selection".

You also can print to PDF and then print only the relevant pages from that file.

I thought this was going to work fine, however I just noticed that the endnote number is not appearing. They all appear as 1 instead of the actual number. Any suggestions?

Oops! When I tested it I must admit that I didn't look at that. It just shows to go.

There is Jefferson's solution. I'll have to keep messing with it to see if I can figure a way to make it happen, but I am now honestly not certain that Word will allow that functionality without jumping through 20 hoops.

Again, from Print Layout view put your cursor on the first page of the end notes. Take a look at the bottom of the Word window and there is a status bar which says Sec # Page # #/# -- Make note of the page number. When you go to File / Print in the same area as "selection" shows there is a box where you can designate specific pages. Designate the page number(s) (if multiple pages use a hyphen to designate a range such as 305-325).

If you do not need the endnotes laid out with the same pagination as the document, then a variant on Karen's suggestion is to insert a section break immediately before the first endnote. Endnote #1 will begin in a new section on a new page and you need only print that section. If, for example, there are no other section breaks in your doc (unlikely) then you simply put "s2" in the "pages" box in the print dialog and that will do the deed.
