    Pivot chart item (Excel 2000)

I am exploring pivot charts now and I get a field or some object on my chart that says, in blue outlined box, "drop more series fields here" I don't want any more series. I want it to go away. The chart does not look finished with that wizard element or whatever it is, sitting there. Can't show it to the Big Dogs with that stuff on it. And how do I keep them from "selecting" chart object elements? It seems whenever I click on the chart I select something, whether I want to or not. I'd like to have that "disabled" so it does not annoy others when they fiddle around it. Thanks.

If you have your Pivot Table Toolbar vsible, you should notice a change to to PivotTable dropdown button. It should read PivotChart, and if you click on it you can see an option to :

    Hide PivotChart Field Buttons.

Selecting this should solve your problem, I think.
