    password applied in macro (excel97)

    When I apply a password to a sheet in a macro I can unprotect the sheet using another macro
    but I cannot unprotect that sheet using the same password typed in when I go Tools>Protection>Unprotect Sheet

    Sub LockSheet()
    ActiveSheet.Protect ("MyPassword"), DrawingObjects:=False, Contents:=True, Scenarios:=True
    End Sub

    Sub UnlockSheet()
    ActiveSheet.Unprotect ("MyPassword")
    End Sub

    Re: password applied in macro (excel97)

    I tested it, and I can unprotect it using the TOOLS | PROTECTION | UNPROTECT SHEETS dialog!

    Ensure that you are typing the password correctly, using case sensitivity and do not type the quotes ( " " ).
