WWW#4.09 SendTo E-mail Recipient

I tried the tip in the #4.09 issue of WWW regarding how to create a Send To E-mail Recipient shortcut in the windows context-sensitive menu, but I can't seem to get it to work. When I use the shortcut I've created from the context-sensitive menu, I get a new e-mail message wtih the item in question attached - but the message is not pre-addressed as it should be. This is the exact text copied from the Target line of the shortcut:

"C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOfficeOUTLOOK.EXE" /c ipm.note /m keely.dunn@legaltech.ca

I'm sure I'm overlooking something very simple, but I need help all the same.

Just tried it here (W2K and Office2K) and it seems to work fine (from the command line anyway).
What version of Outlook are you using?

I always forget that info. W98SE, Office 2000. I just tried it from the command line also, and it worked for me as well. What's the difference when it's a shortcut in the SendTo folder?

Good question - I don't know!
I've just added it to my Send To folder, but it doesn't show up as an option in Word or Excel under the File | Send To sub menu.
However, it does work from Explorer - Right_Mouse the item | Send To | Test to Keely - pops up the email message with the attachment addressed to you.
(I'm 99% certain I cancelled it!)

I literally copied the command line from your post, so I guess you must have entered it correctly. Try another email address with a single name before the @ just in case that should make a difference.

Re: WWW#4.09 SendTo E-mail Recipient

I've tried a few different e-mail addresses to no effect. Now, here's a weird twist. When I create the initial shortcut on the desktop using right-click | New | Shortcut, paste in the command line above and then test it on my desktop by simply double-clicking, it creates a new e-mail message (no attachment of course) properly addressed. I move it into the SendTo folder and achieve the same positive results. It's as soon as I right-click on an item (I've tried .pdf, .zip and .doc) and use the shortcut within that context, it no longer addresses the new message. I don't get it!
