    Averaging (Excel 97)

I am putting together a spreadsheet to keep track of my blood pressure (unless someone already has a good one). I need a formula that will keep a running average as I input information. Please see attached for my attempt.

    Re: Averaging (Excel 97)

    I would recommend
    =IF(COUNT(B2:AF2)=0,0,SUM(B2:AF2)/COUNT(B2:AF2))
as the formula in row 2. This will provide an accurate average irrespective of the number of readings. I would also recommend setting the formatting to "#,###".
    Regards

Why not set up as just 4 columns (date plus each item) then avg the column?

Something like the attached. You could chart, filter (with subtotals) and use pivot tables to summarize.
