Mixed integers and text in a column (2k)

i output a spreadsheet from my database, and it basically comes out in X's, OK's, and N/A's. I did a find and replace all into 0's and 1's (x's being the 1's, everything else being the 0's) in excel because my db query isn't working right for whatever reasons. So after i convert all of these into 0's and 1's i have mixed integers and strings in my spreadsheet, although i only want integers. the text fields have a( ' ) in them before the number, but i don't know how to get rid of the ( ' ) to make them an integer value. Since i can't seem to do a find and replace all on the ( ' ), how can i go about converting all of the values into integers?

Re: Mixed integers and text in a column (2k)

    Method 1:
    - Select the column.
    - Select Data | Text to Columns...
    - Make sure that "Delimited" is selected.
    - Click Finish.

    Method 2:
    - Select a blank (empty) cell.
    - Copy it to the clipboard.
    - Select the column.
    - Select Edit | Paste Special...
    - Click the 'Add' option.
    - Click OK.
