setting form field value (A2K, Win2KPro)

I keep forgetting how to do this! I have a combo box on a form and want to set a textbox to display a value based on what has been selected in the Combo. If I put a calculated field in a query and base the form on that I get 'Recordset Not Updateale'.

How do I set a field on a form to display a value based on user selection on another control in the form?

Say that your combo box is named cboSomething. If you want a text box to refer to the bound value of the combo box, use

=[cboSomething]

as Control Source. If the combo box has multiple columns, you can refer to a particular column. Numbering starts at 0, so to refer to the 2nd column, use

=[cboSomething].[Column](1)
