    commandbars position (XL2000 sr2 on WW2K sp2)

    I have a small custom toolbar (only 3 buttons) that I would like to stay put, in the top right & on the same row as the standard toolbar. Simply parking it in the desired position doesn't seem to be enough when I restart XL the tool bar is in the top right but it is always on a row of its own, either just above the std tool bar or below the formatting toolbar.

    I've tried using
    .Position = msoBarTop
    but again that makes it appear on a row of its own. Is there a line of code to get it to share the same row as the standard toolbar?

    stuck

    Make sure that there is enough room for the custom toolbar, with a bit to spare. I have found that if you make two toolbars fit exactly on one row, Excel apparently thinks there is not enough room, so it will move one of the toolbarst to another row next time you open the workbook (or Excel). If you leave a bit of extra room, the custom toolbar should stay put - it does for me.

    If that doesn't work, you may be able to use the RowIndex and Left properties:

    With CommandBars("MyCustomToolbar")
    .RowIndex = CommandBars("Standard").RowIndex
    .Left = CommandBars("Standard").Left + CommandBars("Standard").Width
    End With

    <img src=/S/thumbup.gif border=0 alt=thumbup width=15 height=15> <img src=/S/thankyou.gif border=0 alt=thankyou width=40 height=15>

    (I'm un)stuck (but my toolbar is stuck)
